Dev Journal: Time Throttle 1

I'm using Game Maker to prototype a game that I am calling 'Time Throttle.'
At this point the goal of my project is to determine whether my mechanic is actually *fun*.

'Time Throttle' is a local multi-player top-down twin-stick bullet-hell shooter, where players mitigate the chaos on the screen by manipulating the speed of time.

Time manipulation will be the primary mechanic that the game is based around, and as such, these effects will leverage the pressure-sensitive analog triggers on the standard XBOX controller.

There will also be grenade objects that will create temporary 'time bubbles' that affect characters and objects crossing through them.

The game takes place in a physics sandbox, where projectile damage is based on mass*velocity^2, so forcing your cannon balls through high speed time bubbles should give you a nice damage boost.

More updates to come!
